Wild chase and gunpoint robbery terrorize Lordsburg area
Sheriff's deputies pursued a stolen pickup through Lordsburg in a high speed chase with shots fired at the tires. Fernando Jimenez, 21, is jailed in Hidalgo on charges of reckless driving evading police and assault on officers. A separate home invasion netted $13,000 in gold and coins as three suspects held a couple at gunpoint. An airport burglary earlier that night yielded a 9mm pistol. A $500 reward for burglars is offered by Hidalgo citizens. Call 1 800 432 6933 with tips.
