Reappraisal of All Mining Properties in State Ordered

Santa Fe June 10 The New Mexico tax commission approved an agreement with Dr B J Wells president of the New Mexico School of Mines for the state to undertake a reappraisal of coal and metal mining properties. Dr A J Walters of the school will lead the work with authority to hire needed assistants. He will receive a daily salary plus traveling expenses. The commission aims to finish the reappraisal by year end and set new values for computing 10 percent taxes, superseding eight year old trues. The move follows perceived changes in mining conditions and market prices.

Animas Test Decision Pending After Telegram Report
