Offiers Recover Burglary Loot and Arrests Made

Joan L. Escobar was taken into custody for breaking into A L Parker's Mobiloil warehouse on South Main and Railway Blvd. He pleaded guilty in district court and drew one to three years in the state penitentiary. Six tires and four inner tubes were recovered, with additional items found in Dunran. Lordsburg police begin universal fingerprinting for arrestees. Hidalgo County Republicans Elect Local Officers

The Hidalgo County Republicans met at the county courthouse on Saturday afternoon and chose Alvin L Parker as Chairman with Mrs Marion Altuna as Vice Chairwoman, Mrs Donald GeGe as Secretary, Sherwood Culbertson as Treasurer. George Godfrey and Par ley Jones named to central committee, She Culbertson also listed as central member. Chairman Parker reported strong attendance and enthusiasm.

Swimming Lessons To Be Given At Municipal Pool

The municipal pool limits entry to 75 at a time amid crowding. Swimming lessons begin Tuesday June 16 with two hourly classes for children ages 6 to 12 and separate morning blocks. Evening female classes run June 22 for three weeks at 7 to 8 20 p m with a $10 course fee.
