Santa Rita, led by Leon for Rita who fanned 12 in seven innings, defeated IpSAUKG 14 to 5. Molina finished the game as Santa Rita used two pitchers Chavez and 1w in relief while IpSAUKG’s 1w was charged with the loss. locals invite fans to Clifton return game on the 26.

The Lordsburg Chamber of Commerce was notified by G. 8. Carter Director of the Compensation Tax Division that field auditor S. M. Graf will be at the Lordsburg Chamber on June 23 and 24 to answer inquiries from business representatives.
Miss Mary Francis Malone accompanies her sister Miss Gladys Gene Malone back to Woodbury College in Hollywood California and will enjoy a visit with her.
Lordsburg village trustees reviewed municipal water system upgrades and approved purchasing a small pump to back up the existing one. Reports showed all departments in excellent order with a strong water and gas service outlook. The board planned two upcoming meetings including fire department reorganization and insurance-rate reduction efforts.
The Lordsburg Hidalgo Library board met Monday at the Library and approved purchasing new books. Attendees included Mrs. Mathilde Johnson Mrs. Mery I Conner Mrs. Felix Gauthier Mrs. Tom Pendleton Mrs. Lela Mae Walters and Mrs. K I Jarvis with Mrs. Conner officiating in the president’s absence.
Rev Bryan Wall left Monday for Sacramento New Mexico to serve again as dean of the intermediary assembly for the Methodist church. Delegates from Lordsburg include Glenn Ross Jr Charles Crouch and Pearl Scott. Professor W C Mearns and family attend as band director. Rev Hall and party expect to return tomorrow.
District Judge George W. Hay and District Attorney Joseph W. Hodges arrived in Lordsburg Monday night to convene a brief term of court in Hidalgo county Tuesday. The week produced little business with several minor civil matters disposed of by Judge Hay.
Herbert Strange of Animas arrived in Lordsburg for a business visit. He met local merchants and discussed potential trade opportunities during his stay.
The U S Geological Survey finished a stream measuring station at the Gila river state line, linked with New Mexico water records. C B H Tooley directs the project, with plans to station a resident hydrographer to service Wirden and Silver City areas amid possible interstate water court actions.

The Knights of Pythias invite all members and friends to a steak fry at 6:30 p.m. in the K. P. Hall. They will proceed to the Silver City highway picnic grounds with Pythian Sisters as guests. Attendees should bring their own steaks. afterward games and refreshments follow.
Lordsburg will be featured on the Americana Radio Series in Los Angeles. The program will include Wordsburg and nearby regions with no expense to listeners due to a special Chamber of Commerce arrangement. Exact broadcast time will be announced for public enjoyment.
The state AAA rules that pit and reservoir enlargements are allowed only as non payment items. Operators may not collect for cleaning out pits or reservoirs and must have prior approvals from county and state committees to receive payment for enlarging dams or pits.
Mr and Mrs Leo Cohen have moved into a new adobe home near the Womans Club. The four room house with sleeping porch and bath was designed and built by Leo, with Bill Smith and helpers finishing the construction.
Mr and Mrs J B Foster begin building a bright adobe duplex on East 6th street and a single house with attached garage on South Pyramid. The single home will house Superintendent and Mrs Tom J Mayfield who visited to arrange a home. Contractor Jack Heather handles the project.
Henry Eager state Corporation Commissioner and an Interstate Commerce Commission member toured the area on Wednesday to study transportation problems. He planned to bring Mrs. Eager to Lordsburg soon to view a busy town.
