Saucedo Tops In Hidalgo Voting
Manny Saucedo led Hidalgo County voting with 1246 votes for district judgeship while Bill Morris and Patricio Sanchez trailed. The Hidalgo results show county commissioner winners Sven Thygerson Kiki Chaires and Jerry Veck plus clerk Margaret Coogan treasurer Ramona Bassa sheriff Billy Darnell probate judge Doris McCarty and district attorney David Lane all advancing or winning in various races. Norman Hodges Saucedo and Lane secured tri county judge and district attorney posts with others contested in the Democratic and Republican contests.

Sign Permit Granted After City Council Meeting
City Council approved Roy Soriano of Sea Shell Aloha Inn to place a sign on Main Street on property owned by Ben Ybarra. The 14 foot high, 8 by 40 foot sign will be set at least 25 feet from the street, with prior state highway approval and owner permission. The City of Lordsburg reports the summer recreation program is thriving thanks to coaches managers and board members of the Little League and softball groups who dedicate many hours for community enjoyment.
