Legionnaires Seek Government Headstones for Unmarked Graves

A Lordsburg and Silver City Legion post delegates plan to document unmarked ex service graves in Mountainview Cemetery and obtain government headstones. George Potter leads data collection while others recruit members, aiming to grow to 75 by August 1 and county wide involvement.

Conner daughter of Mrs Ira C Conner and Posner son of Mr and Mrs Posner of Deming wed last Saturday evening at Chris church with Rev J IT Brim officiating The bride wore peach marquisette and white garland. attendants included Miss Ii maid of honor and matrons of honor Mrs Hardin of Tucson and Mrs Baldwin of Albuquerque The groom was supported by best man Basil Fuller and ushers. The ceremony followed by a Woman's Club reception attended by about 200 guests and a host of Lordsburg friends. Posner a Lordsburg native teaches at the high school. Conner is daughter of a Lordsburg family and a former student at State Teacher College Silver City.

Fuller Recital Showcases Piano Students at High School

Family Trip Leaves for Cincinnati for Louise Wamel

Hon Rufus H Wamel and Mrs Wamel with their son Buddy and Mrs Daisy Upton depart Tuesday for Cincinnati Ohio. Louise Wamel has spent a year at Commercial College living with her aunt Mrs Kate Wamel Fredrickson and will be gone several weeks.

Vacation Bible School at Baptist church begins June 7

A two week Vacation Bible School opens Monday at 8:30 a.m. and ends 11 p.m. daily. It welcomes children from four to sixteen years old, with no younger children admitted. A capable teacher corps promises strong benefits as teachers lead the study. What do you say boys and girls.

Miss Mary Elizabeth Swan now Mrs E C DeMoss and Miss Emma Marble now Mrs John T Muir of Lordsburg both graduated from the Normal School at Silver City New Mexico in 1897 with ten students in the class. Swan gave New Mexico in History and Marble Normal School Idea as themes. DeMoss’ son Edwin graduated with honors from Lordsburg High School on May 27 1937.

Alumni notice set for high school meeting tonight

The Alumni Business meeting is scheduled for 7 PM at the High School.
