At the Lordsburg High School awards assembly on May 23 the Student Council awarded forty five scholarships across class levels. Moore Ousted As Police Chief Replaced By Lytle
Eugene F. Moore was removed as acting police chief effective May 26 and Lt. Claude Lytle was appointed in his place. Mayor Harber Heather cited political reasons. Lytle had broad council support and four years with the city. Patrolman DeLaGarza was discharged. Diaz and Stiles were hired as patrolmen. Lara was promoted to lieutenant.
