A photo displays ranch brands including RV owned by Chas Henry Rainville and Crazy as early marks. Charles Neville Rainville arrived in New Mexico in 1896 with Geo Yates and once ran a Silver City livery stable. The image hangs in The First National Bank Lordsburg and new brands were added recently.

Liberal Installs New Photo-Engraving Plant

The Lordsburg Liberal adds a photo engraving plant to its printing, enabling rapid local pictures. Previously, engravings were outsourced to Dallas, Texas taking about two weeks and costlier. Mr. Sam Killebrew, returning to Lordsburg from Clifton, Arizona, purchases the 180 Auto Camp and plans remodeling with new furniture.

SP Engineers Strike Ends After Short Disruption

The Southern Pacific Engineers Brotherhood called a brief strike lasting under seven hours. Perishable and livestock shipments were halted a day earlier, but by Tuesday trains resumed with adjusted schedules as mercier pledged full restoration of service and the strike was postponed indefinitely.

Austins Return Home After West Coast Vacation

Dr. and Mrs. C Banks Austin returned to Lordsburg by train Sunday afternoon from a two week vacation in California. They enjoyed San Diego and Los Angeles visits including Lake Arrowhead and hotel stays at the Biltmore and U S Grant.

Irrigation Boom at Tippetts Farm Near Lordsburg

Ted and Mrs. Tippetts cultivate about 150 acres under irrigation south of Lordsburg with plans to expand to half of 4560 grazing acres. They grow beans High Gear cane popcorn melons and more. A 103 pump runs about 30 cents per hour while irrigation plus labor costs about $1.50 per acre. The family has 80 Hereford cattle and three sons Bob Gordon Ted and a daughter Victoria aged one.
