Woman's Society of Christian Service Met in Silver City

The Yucca Zone of the Woman's Society of Christian Service including Deming Silver City Hatch Hot Springs Socorro and Lordsburg met in Silver City on July 10. A helpful program was presented by zone members and a pot luck dinner was held in the church basement at noon hosted by Silver City ladies led by Mrs Isaac Van Meter president.

Notary Fee Added to Vehicle Applications

Beginning July 15 1947 a notary fee of fifty cents will be charged for each motor vehicle application under the legislative amendment to Section 11 123 of New Mexico Statutes.

Vacation Church School At Methodist Church

The Methodist Church will conduct a vacation church school from Monday July 21 through Friday July 25. Classes start daily at 9:00 AM and end at 11:00 AM followed by a picnic on Friday. The program blends study and play for participating boys and girls.

City to Begin DDT Spraying This Week

The City of Lords burg will spray all trash barrels and outhouses with DDT at no charge this week. Superintendent S H Gass announced the program as part of municipal pest control efforts.
