Plans are complete for a Tuesday carnival on July 25 from 4 p m to midnight to raise funds for playground equipment. The event features at least twelve booths with confetti, toys, candy, cigars, hot dogs, coffee, ice cream, pies, a fortune teller, magic cave, and several games. Proceeds support school playgrounds while attendees are urged to come and stay for the full event.
A July 13 1922 letter from Evald T Erickson stationed at Lordsburg New Mexico in 1918 19 commends local hospitality and asks for the yearly price of a subscription to the Lordsburg Liberal. He notes interest in the town's progress and offers to send a check.

Walter Ethridge brother of Mrs. W Hanner died in an accidental incident while performing athletic stunts to amuse young people on the Laney ranch near Metcalf Tuesday of inet week. Funeral in Arizona, remains brought to Lordsburg by Arthur Slaughter and son, Arthur. Burial Friday in Mountainview cemetery. Ethridge was a World War veteran and Mrs. Hanner has only one brother left.
Mrs. J. L. Wells hosts a constant house party at a ranch home with sister Mia, George W. Murphy, and three daughters from Marion TL as guests. The text notes James as “Healed plumb to death.”

General Manager George W. Foreman of the Anita Copper Company returns from Los Angeles with a bill of lading for a Herman ball mill and a 60 ton Viking truck. In ten days a low concentration plant will operate while ore continues to ship to the Mi Paso smelter. The mine pushes to strike a new vein or improve existing veins.

County Chamber of Commerce reports a letter from Senator A A Jones stating only a slim chance of the Swing Johnson bill passing this Congress The note also indicates the Colorado River power permit will not be acted on until the Swing Johnson bill is disposed of The tone is cautiously optimistic about timing and priority.
