P T Association Hosts Big Entertainment in Lordsburg

The Parent Teacher Association raised 8413.80 and held a full day of events. A baseball game between Wade Smiths Slivers and Eddie O Briens Kewpies drew a large crowd, followed by a horse race at Yarboroughs Way and a bustling downtown carnival with prize drawings and a confetti booth.

Hospital Notes Reflect Several Operations

Miss Burns returns home after a hospital stay. Minor operations are listed for Jack Conroy Wm Charles of Steins Lee Coldwell of Cloverdale and Viola Thomas. The infant son of Tom Winslow also underwent a minor operation. Mrs. Virginia Lovett Duncan and Ethel Maloney had major operations. Sermons by Latter Day Saints Draw Big Crowds

Friday and Saturday evenings the Methodist church was filled as Virden based speakers from the Church of Christ Latter Day Saints presented sermons. Fred W. Jones Hiram Mortenson and Eva Jacobson spoke with Miss Jacobson providing music. Jones urged cooperation between Lordsburg and Virden in religious matters.

Fine addition to Hollen House is completed

Contractor Jack Heather has turned over to Joe Hollen the new addition to the Hollen hotel, now modern and shipshape. The doubled capacity provides top tier accommodations with Simmons beds, hot and cold water, baths, a full lobby, summer parlor, and a dedicated ladies parlor with reed and leather furniture. The hotel also features a modern laundry, electric wiring by I M Lackie, and finishing touches by W J Heather. Mr and Mrs Sullivan have invested heavily to offer guests enhanced comforts in this community setting.

Bradberry Bros Not Guilty Detected in Clifton Area

Holland Bass returned to Clifton on Wednesday and said after a twelve mile square search the region showed no evidence that the Bradberry Bros or anyone else burned brands on stock. He stated no trails or stock drives were found and the search found no such practice.

Mary and John Clark hosted a royal entertainment Monday evening with a large group of youths from Lordsburg and Waledon. Summer guests of prominent families attended the event.

Council Buys Water System For 23000 Dollars

City officials led by Mayor B.E. Fisher purchase the Lordsburg Power Company water system for 23000 cash, saying it saves at least 25000 and avoids higher appraisal. The decision was made Monday night and paid in lawful US money.
