Girls Club Doing Meritorious Work In El Paso

The El Paso Girls Club under Mrs A I reer directs Virgina Orcutt Jane Alger Pauline Anussin Nancy Cross Francis Cross and Addie Conner in sewing making new dresses and collecting socks for the El Paso Children's Home. Mr and Mrs W H Small depart Tuesday for Long Beach for their annual summer stay likely in the same hotel apartments as previous years. They plan to be away the rest of the season. County Agent Gleason also leaves for a month long vacation in Colorado and California.

New Division Supt. Ties Up for the Night

N S. Pairbank the popular new superintendent for the Rio Grande Division arrived at 8 o clock Thursday evening and prepared for the night. He used the private car Tie son and described the interchange with former Willian Wilson now assigned to the Hin Grande on the Tucson Division as a sign of good will between divisions of the Southern Pacific. Fairbank praised the new posting and said the Rio Grande division is in excellent condition and that most people would not notice a change due to efficient operations. He expressed a wish to meet local businessmen and hoped to visit Libera.

Hatfields Improve Hotel With New Apartments and Amenities

Mr and Mrs Hatfield, long time owners of the Turner Hotel Hardin properties, have renovated the hotel adding seven new apartments and twenty six more beds to reach thirty five refined rooms. Each room has hot and cold water, showers, and fans. the property features flowers and a homelike atmosphere. On August 1 they will turn over full operation to Hotel Owner Field, resuming Mrs Leonard who has run the hotel with them.

Mrs Marble Hosts Dinner With Desert Plant Project

Mrs Flora Marble entertained Sunday with a chicken dinner and homemade cactus jelly at her ranch home. Guests included Hor and Mrs Join T Muir and Tom Davis of Oakland, Mrs Hayes, Albert Hill’s grandmother, and County Agent L W Gleason with editor Mrs Marble. The host plans a bed for growing various desert cacti as part of an interesting experiment.
