Funeral Services Held Monday for Lordsburg Pioneer Resident
Mrs. Aman da Arabella Simpson Bradberry of Lordsburg died July 12 at 95 years old. Funeral July 14 at Heather Chapel with Bishop Allen Hill officiating. Survivors include two sons Levi and Alvin, two daughters Laura Hill and Mrs Gordon, 17 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 32 great great grandchildren. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery beside Allen Bradberry.

Girl Scout Leaders Meeting Postponed to September
The Girl Scout leaders meeting is postponed until September because many leaders are out of town. New Postal Rates Set by Lordsburg Postmaster
The new postal rates take effect August 1 1958 per Eugene Montague Lordsburg postmaster. First class letters rise by one cent to three cents for drop letters and four cents per ounce. air mail eight ounces or less at seven cents per ounce. air mail cards from four to five cents. regular mail cards at three cents. oversize cards at five cents. Third class mail three cents for two ounces and one and a half cents per extra ounce, with the limit rising to 16 ounces. Book rate nine cents first pound plus five cents per additional pound. Remembering the rates will speed postage handling.

Swimming Lessons To Start July 22 At Municipal Pool
Swimming lessons will begin Tuesday July 22 at the municipal pool with two age groups 7-8-9 and 10-11-12 limited to 20 students per class. Registration is in person on Saturday at the pool with a five dollar charge per student. The 7-8-9 group meets 6:30 and the 10-11-12 group at 9 am on Tuesday to Friday for one hour. The crawl stroke with flutter kick will be taught and time permitting other strokes. Two qualified lifeguards will be on site during lessons.
Senior Methodist Camp Trip Heads to Sacramento
Senior boys and girls from the First Methodist Church depart Monday for a weeklong camp in Sacramento. Rev Arthur Shaw Mrs J F Whitmore accompany seven youths Jackie Fuller Jeannene Badgett Melvin Phillips John Harvell Charles Harvell Sandra Dunkerson Gary Whitmore and other counselors will supervise and teach during the trip.

Regional telephone directory to merge four towns in 1998
The Lordsburg Deming Silver City and Bayard directory will combine four communities for the first time. Distribution by mail begins July 24 with about 9 000 copies printed to cover existing and new telephones through June 18. The directory will be the largest in Lordsburg history.
