Lordsburg theater hosted Private and Mrs. W H Posey as hosts for an enlisted men dance with the Silver City Cavaliers providing music. Guests included John C O Leary and Rhue Estes from Silver City, Mary Olive Gale from N M State Teachers College staff, and forty Grant County women. The crowd enjoyed square dancing waltzes and jitterbugging. Future plans call for more socials and dances for soldiers and citizens.

Boy Scout Troop 121 sponsored by the Methodist church of Lordsburg returned from a week at Council Camp Zach White near El Paso on the Rio Grande. Ninety eight Scouts from Lordsburg Silver City Ft Bayard and Las Cruces attended with special instruction in swimming life saving shooting axemanship and camping.
