OEO Grants Aid for Six New Mexico Counties

All-Star teams played Duncan All-Stars on July 4 with Jaime Alvarez winning pitcher. Rufles Guardiola homered and the trio of Marquez Garcia also pitched. All-Stars totaled 19 runs on 14 hits with 2 errors. Other games noted include Prices defeating FNB 11-4, Tony Uresti homering and doubling. July 9 San Simon did not show. Saucedo's 3, VFW 2 with Ed Romo winning.

An eagle sculpture for the Hidalgo County World War II memorial is on view in the First National Bank of Lordsburg lobby. Betty Lazar arranged for sculptor LS Edwards of Lubbock Texas to create the piece at a cost of 500 dollars funded by local donations.
