City To Sell Extra Water By Bid For Ten Years

Lordsburg City Council unanimously approved bidding excess Waste Treatment Plant water for a decade with use and flow conditions. Residents, including Mrs. Johnnie Dunagan, seek removal or use restrictions as council expands animal control contract with the county for a $6000 annual service. Lordsburg Optimist Club Plans Fourth of July Celebration

The Lordsburg Optimist Club sponsors a full day of July 4 events at the Swimming Pool and Short Park beginning 8 a.m. with a swim meet and a seven mile run. Participants register for $2 by contacting Sarge or Cecilia Bejarano. The day includes relay races, egg throw, obstacle courses, tug of war, baseball games, a Little League all star game, a National Guard flag presentation, fireworks, a dance, and various booths. Contact Don Kling for booths and Anita or Lyn O Donnel for Sonic contests. The event marks the towns 204 birthday celebration.

Lordsburg School Board weighs roof replacement costs

Lordsburg School Board received a 25000 dollar estimate from Burton Leyendecker and Lyendecker to re roof Central Elementary with foam spray material. An 800 dollar max for specifications and monitoring was set. The board may pursue cheaper repairs and scheduled bids for air conditioners.
