The Lordsburg Optimist Club sponsors a full day of July 4 events at the Swimming Pool and Short Park beginning 8 a.m. with a swim meet and a seven mile run. Participants register for $2 by contacting Sarge or Cecilia Bejarano. The day includes relay races, egg throw, obstacle courses, tug of war, baseball games, a Little League all star game, a National Guard flag presentation, fireworks, a dance, and various booths.
