Council Grants Liquor Permit For City Park Bazaar
The City Council split vote approved a special liquor permit for the Knights of Columbus to sell alcohol at the St Josephs Bazaar in City Park with police officer oversight. James Curtis Kennedy 35 dies in Playas car crash
Butch Kennedy a lifelong Deming area resident and locom otive mechanic at Phelps Dodge in Playas died June 24 in a one car accident in Playas. He was born January 26 1947 in Deming and was a 1966 Deming High School graduate. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Wheeler Mortuary Chapel Wednesday at two. Survivors include wife Lydia Kennedy father J C Ike Kennedy mother Marge Montgomery and two brothers Ronnie Joe Kennedy and Charles Chop Kennedy. Wheeler Mortuary in charge.
