Deming Woman Killed. Suspect Jesus Romero Captured

Martina Navarro was shot and killed by Jesus Romero who then turned the gun on her sister Mesa but wounded her. Sheriff Cavin held Romero in custody after a daytime search, with a first degree murder charge filed. The hearing will occur once Mesa’s condition is updated. Romero had been warned to stay away from the Navarro home. Funeral services were held at the Navarro residence on Monday.
