City Council accepted Brunswick Bowling and Billiards Corp bid of 172675.00 to build bowling lanes for Lordsburg Special Events Center, notes discounts to municipalities, laminate surfaces, local hiring, and plans to hire a Recreational Director. No Fireworks In National Forest
Forest Supervisor Dave Dahl reminds July 4 visitors that fireworks are prohibited on National Forest lands to protect forests and rangelands from wildfire. Fireworks include firecrackers sparklers Roman candles torpedoes fountains and other ignitable devices. Campfires should be dead out when leaving and smoking in the woods requires a safe spot and extinguished matches or cigarettes.

Lordsburg Olympian Todd Returns For Fourth of July Reunion
After months of training and international matches Todd, Lordsburg's 1984 Olympian, heads home for the Fourth of July and his high school reunion. He won two golds and three silvers in individual events and earned one gold, two silvers and a bronze in team events against Olympic teams in Germany Sweden and East Germany. He will depart after the Fourth for California for another Selection Match and return in August for the final 1988 Olympic team selection.
