Two Bodies Found After Crash North of Virden

On January 22 Lordsburg Chapter No. 21 hosted W. G. M. Mrs. Vera Armstrong of Clovis and W. G. P. Mr. Frederick Macron of Springer with a banquet at the Range Cafe. The official visit occurred at the Masonic Hall at 8 p.m. Fifty year members Olivia Wells Anna Chase Maude Green Mayde Augustine John L. Augustine were saluted as golden stars. Guests came from Portales Magdalena Tyrone Hurley Arizona and West Virginia. A reception and social hour followed with Ruby Warren chairing the reception.

Guilty Plea Nets Collins Prison Term
Fred Collins, former truck service station operator, pleaded guilty before District Judge H. Vearle Payne to selling property held under a conditional sales contract. He was sentenced to one to three years in the state penitentiary. Collins sold tools and equipment bought on contract from Car Parts Depot, Inc. in Silver City and previously ran the 80 Truck Stop and Cafe east of Lordsburg.
