Mrs Adramn Stewart president of the New Mexico Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars met with V F W Auxiliary No 3099 in Los Alamos at El Charro for a 2 to 5 PM round table on January 20. Discussions covered membership Community Service and the Daisy Gray Memorial Cancer Fund. Stewart noted the high local membership 125 percent and discussed Fall Out Shelters. She will return February 11 for District 4 meeting at Bayard V F W Hall with a pot luck supper.

Brown Construction Co. was the low bidder at the Hidalgo County highway let for 4.83 miles of Highways 70 60. The project from Grant Hidalgo line westward, a division of I 10, with a bid of 921 216.45, about 7 461 under the engineer estimate. Next bidder was Wayne A Loudermilk Inc at 1 030 326.66.
