Cemetery Well Delivers 1500 Gallons Per Hour

The VanMeter well rig completed a 110 ft six inch well with 24 ft of water for the cemetery association. It should yield 1,500 gallons per hour and be pumped to the highest cemetery point at a cost of 1. first 1,000 gallons. The fund is about $200 short with out of town volunteers M. J. Morgan of Globe and W. B. Walton of Silver City contributing.

Dief Montague announces the electric siren will be sounded every day at noon at the engine house to keep it ready. The first noon blast will occur on the upcoming Friday with daily echoes thereafter.

Group No 1 enjoyed their annual Camp Fire Banquet with decorous hall, games, contests, and prizes. Virginia Orcutt of Deming was guest of honor. Miss Johnson acted as toastmistress. all girls attended. Marjory Fairly recorded the scribe note. Benson Nally of Texico will visit with his parents this week.

Charlie Nichols, a salesman for Tom Nichols, faced a stranger who offered fifty dollars to reveal where a pretty girl at a local table lives and her name. Charlie reported the offer to his uncle, who told a friend of the girl, who learned the information. Charlie avoided disclosure and alerted others to potential danger.
