A head on collision on Highway 70 eighteen miles west of Lordsburg killed Oliver Tweeton and his wife, Fermin Sosa, and Jose DeLa Cruz Sosa. Jose Sosa was hospitalized with injuries and shock. rain and slick pavement were factors.

Fire Destroys Weldon Home
Fire destroyed the former dwelling of the late Frank Weldon Jr. around 6 30 p m last Sunday evening just south of the Tom Shoon residence on Animas Avenue. Flames showed from town and a pall of smoke covered the southeast portion. The building was unoccupied at the time, Fire Chief Victor Reay said.

John B. Lewis Found Dead At Warren Ranch
John B. Lewis was found dead at the Warren Ranch south of Separ around noon on Tuesday by neighbor Rayburn Mays. Coroner’s inquest ruled natural causes. Lewis, a World War I veteran and Mason, worked as a ranch caretaker after a Texas career as an accountant. He was born July 24 1897 in Martin Texas and survived by a daughter and sons. Funeral services will be in Stanton Texas.
