Elks Distribute Christmas Baskets To Kids
The Elks gave out 28 baskets of food and toys on Christmas Eve. Roddy Poindexter chaired the effort with assistants Hallmark Andy Fullet J Culberson and Marshall Full. The baskets included 400 pounds beans 200 pounds potatoes 130 pounds ham and 60 pounds rice along with toys and $150 in gifts.

Scene of Kristmas Party at P Hall by Sunshine Girls
The Sunshine Girls held their annual Christmas party at KP Hall on December 19. They visited Hidalgo County Hospital to share treats with patients before evening festivities. Mrs Frank Bowman assisted by Mrs H B Cohen Mrs Mary Gay and Mrs B B Melister organized the event and buffet supper. The hall featured Christmas motifs a central tree and gift exchange. Individual tables were set with green and red décor and lighted candles.

Former Lordsburg Coach Harold Ehrhardt Dies in Illinois
Harold G. Ehrhardt of Taylorville Illinois died after an extended illness on December 25 at home. He coached local schools in the 1930s and joined the Masonic lodge in 1931 while living in Lordsburg. Funeral services were to be held in Baldwin Kansas on December 29. He is survived by his widow Zella a son Jermy and a sister in Kansas.

Ground Observer Corps Stands by in Lordsburg
