Roger Babson’s 1967 Economic Outlook Forecasts Mixed Trends
Babson surveys 1966 as the longest business boom and warns of a 1967 with a breathing spell. He foresees no US–Soviet war but rising tensions, Middle East flashpoints, and continued Communist games. Domestic demand hints at a rest, with high industrial production early but a cresting pattern later. Inflation and deflation duel as costs rise.
