Lordsburg High School fell 76-45 to Deming Wildcats last Friday. Duncan battled Deming and lost 72-56. Sal Ortega scored 14 for the Mavericks, while Yhen Baisa grabbed nine rebounds. Juanita G. Acosta 73, former Lordsburg resident, died suddenly Thursday in Washington D C. She was mother to Eloise De La O and Carlos Lara and two daughters in California, widow of Henry Acosta, and a Liberal office former employee. Funeral services will be held at Heather Mortuary next week.
