KOB to Dedicate Programs to Counties in New Mexico

Hidalgo County residents urged to submit population and crops data for a weekly KOB program titled New Mexico Farm and Home Hour. Station manager Howard Ray will feature a different county each Monday from 12 to 12 30, beginning January 2 1935, with Lordsburg to provide historical and local details.

Hidalgo County Teachers Thank County Leader

Cline Family Reunion and Holiday Visits in New Mexico

The F. G. Cline family reunion occurred at Roy and Mildred Harper’s home in Red Rock with Fred Adair and family from El Paso, Hugh Adair of Arkansas, and F. G. Cline of Lordsburg present. Tucumcari Man Kills Brothers in Christmas Day Slaying

Leland Bell confessed to shooting Everett Fling at a ranch near Tucumcari and pursuing his brother Charles Fling, killing both brothers and injuring a third as he fled. He hid Everett’s body in a barn and later surrendered after revealing the killings to a neighbor.

Double Funeral Held in Lordsburg for Mother and Infant

In Lordsburg a double funeral was held Tuesday for Mrs Emma Lassiter, 78, and five weeks old Glenn Elden Wright. Both died of pneumonia, with services led at the Nazarene church by Rev T A Phillips. Interment followed at Lordsburg cemetery. pallbearers included Frank Hindman and Ed Wright among others.

Daring bandit robs Golden Eagle bus near Lordsburg Deming

A lone robber stopped a Golden Eagle Line bus between Lordsburg and Deming New Mexico, netting about 20 dollars from 10 passengers and two drivers over 61 miles. The bandit, described as five feet six inches, 135 pounds with sandy hair, wore a faded green overcoat and spoke with a northern accent. He fled after jumping off near a side road as the bus neared Deming, with investigation naming an El Paso red-haired woman and a wiry young man as persons of interest.

Seligman to push U S 40 improvement near Lordsburg

Governor Seligman told the Lordsburg Chamber of Commerce he has taken up with the Highway Department the improvement of U S 40 west of Lordsburg and will advise on definite action.
