Alice Nielsen a junior at Animas High School won the school level American Legion oratorical contest earning a path toward Nationals and a 48000 scholarship cut. The district event in Deming in January will determine state finals with a memorized 8 to 10 minute oration followed by a 3 to 5 minute extemporaneous speech on constitutional articles.
