Hidalgo County deputies pursued a 830 mph dump truck squad car chase on I 10 starting at Lordsburg Port of Entry and ending east of Deming when Chavez wrecked rear tires. One fugitive captured, another escaped into the desert as 1986 opened.

She leaves daughter Hazel Hervey of El Paso son George Pendelton of Cloverdale seven grandchildren eight great grandchildren memorials to First Church of Christ Scientist Las Cruces. Lordsburg Liberal office closed Wednesday December 24 and Christmas Day.
