Dudley Robertson of Pigelly Wiggly distributed 180 turkeys to workers employed at least three months as a show of appreciation. Superintendent Bowman and H J Grimes led the gesture, highlighting the mine’s impact on Lordsburg and Hidalgo County with weekly wage flows and local merchant support.

Funeral of the Late Walter Sullivan

High Mass for Walter Sullivan was held at St. Joseph’s Church with Rev. Dan Thistle officiating. The service featured Thelma Ross Helen Garcia and Cecelia Pedrick at the piano. pallbearers included George P. Jeffus H Gass E M Fisher Robert Pragle Claude Fuller and George Wood. Sullivan born October 16 1846 in Kingston Ontario married Marion Kearny in 1912. sons Joseph Sullivan of Los Angeles and Hugh Sullivan in the U S Army. He and his wife long resided in Lordsburg where they ran the Hollen Hotel. burial beside Mrs Sullivan at Mountainview Cemetery.
