Man Arrested in Animas for Worthless Checks
Animas New Mexico man Edward Roberts, address Animas, is jailed awaiting trial on charges of issuing worthless checks. Police say the suspect passed two checks, one for 50 dollars and one for 100 dollars, at a local jewelry store before fleeing. The watch, left as collateral, prompted the store manager to contact authorities and identify the suspect as store employee Rob Wafler.

Lordsburg Man Injured In One Car Wreck
Frank Trujillo of Lordsburg an employee of Banner Mining Company was injured Sunday at 11 30 A M when his 1954 Chevrolet failed to make the curve south on Highway 80 at Road Forks. He suffered back injuries. State Police report says excessive speed was to blame for the accident.
