Sunday night December 18 three youths were in an automobile crash nine miles west of Duncan. The car owned by Gerald Steel left the road, threw them out, and two suffered arm injuries while Collins had a broken shoulder and internal injuries. Gerald is in serious condition with injuries not yet specified. all three were taken to a government hospital.
The Elks plan Christmas baskets of food and toys for the needy but face a toy shortage this year. Donations of used or outgrown toys are urged to be brought to the Elks Club room after 3 p.m. to help bring happiness to children.

Robert Noling died December 13 in an automobile crash six miles west of Monroe Louisiana at about 11 35 p m He drove a 1955 Dodge with two other occupants all three were killed instantly Authorities believe he lost control on a sharp curve and went off the embankment Noling was born January 15 1933 in El Paso Texas but lived most of his life in Lordsburg He served in the Army from 1950 to 1953 in the Philippines and Korea attaining the rank of sergeant His base was Fort Hood Texas at death he was with the 129th Ordinance Company Funeral arrangements included local custody and services in Lordsburg with relatives listed among survivors.
Governor John F. Simms urges Lordsburg authorities to strengthen traffic enforcement during the holiday season to prevent street and highway tragedy and to foster a cooperative effort among state, county, and municipal officers to save lives.
Donald Johnson, local manager for Community Public Service Company, led New Mexico Division employees to win the President's Trophy Contest. He accepted a personal check and a plaque for first place in the intradivision competition during a victory dinner at the Murray Hotel ballroom.
Pete L. Medina a Banner Mining Co employee was killed at 12:30 a.m. Thursday December 22 in the Banner Mine. A rock reportedly rolled down a chute and struck him on his skip car as he moved by, in a deathly instant. Medina, born October 19 1925 in Gila New Mexico, leaves a wife and three children. The mine had an esteemed safety record with only one prior fatality since 1942 after over four million man hours.
Mrs. Siv Allen Romney Produce Company and the Lions Club join Friday afternoon to stage a Christmas show and treat for Lordsburg school children. Coronado Theatre will offer two free showings of Trail Guide with cartoons and a comedy at 1 PM and 2 30 PM. Romney Produce Company to give free apples and Lions Club free popcorn to each child.
