P W Club members and guests gathered December 9 for a festive year end Christmas party directed by the membership committee led by Mrs Cureton and Mrs Kimbly. The event featured a childlike program, gifts, and a community fund raiser plan for the club scholarship.

The Carrie Tingley Hospital for Crippled Children reports 83 inpatients and 84 discharged since opening. A weekly tally shows eight operations, five more discharges, and nine outpatients examined. Of inpatients, 43 have Spanish American parentage. there are 42 boys and 41 girls.

Prisoners Stage Jail Break Here Monday

Glen Turk and Ray D Rhodes escaped from Hidalgo county jail Monday morning by breaking the inner cell door lock and slipping through the main door. Turk, held on burglary charges for a November 17 attempt on Lordsburg High School, remains at large. Rhodes, accused of assaulting D A Dunn near town, was captured in Safford Arizona and will be returned to custody. Both were bound over to the District Court in the spring.

Willson Wins Montecito Memorial Park Golf Tournament

Elmer Willson of San Bernardino California won the Montecito Memorial Park Tournament at the San Bernardino Country Club. Willson, a former wrestling promoter, is related as a nephew of Mrs. Sarah Simpson. His California home was among her west visits last spring.

Hospital authorities will require official authorization for any event or use of the hospital name. Claude Olney Named Member of School Board
