Death of John J. Coughlin Sr pioneer and railway veteran
John J. Coughlin Sr of Lordsburg died Monday December 6. A native of Cork Ireland born 1866 he spent nearly fifty years in Hidalgo and Greenlee counties and worked for several railways including the Frisco and Santa Fe. He and Mildred VanBibber married in 1896 and had son John J. Coughlin Jr born 1900. Funeral was held at Heather Mortuary with burial at Mountainview Cemetery. Survived by widow Mildred two grandchildren and a son in Deming.
