The New Mexico Collector of Internal Revenue announced that Congress changed the final date for filing 1944 estimated tax declarations and paying installments from December 15 1944 to January 16 1945. Taxpayers may file 1944 returns by January 15 and have them count as both return and declaration.
War Price Board officials announce New Mexico will use posted posters to display maximum ceilings for twelve cleaning and pressing services. Posters due January 15, with four ceiling items per service, covering men and women garments including suits coats dresses and sweaters.

The P O W WOWS team at Lordsburg Prisoner of War Camp will host Deming on Friday December 15 at 8 p m. A dance for American soldiers and guests follows the game with music by the Camp Orchestra. Mrs Paul Marbry learns Clifford Marbry is missing in action in the European Area.

Frank G. Clayton son of Mrs Faye Clayton Lordsburg will return from Mexico on furlough and enroll at New Mexico Military Institute dormitory space limited to cadets. About twenty eight from New Mexico form the state distribution among forty states represented by cadets at the institute.
Mrs Herber Heather travels to San Francisco to join her Navy husband C Ph M Herber Heather whose ship will be in port briefly.
Following a Duncan highway wreck last week a Lordsburg car carrying seven to a basketball game in Duncan. Four occupants were severely injured. Jose Guzman died at DeMoss Hospital after arrival and was laid to rest in Shakespeare Cemetery. Both funerals were from the Catholic Church with Jack Heather directing. The last funeral was held Wednesday morning.
The Virden Valley Soil Conservation District was honored for outstanding achievement in soil conservation work in a KOB broadcast Monday night. The cited men include Ray Gordon L P McCalffey L A Conner Ed Lunt Sherman Harper and several others. it was announced that the Animal District had been approved.
Diana Lee Hill is born to T-5 and Mrs Elbert L Hill at DeMoss Hospital on Wednesday December 4 at 8 p m weighing seven pounds four and a half ounces.
Rufus Jones Sr suffered a dangerous scalp wound after a fall from a horse on a Grant County range. He bled heavily and was found hours later by his brother Johnnie Jones and moved to a Silver City hospital where he receives constant care. Dr. C B Austin has been released from hospital after illness.
Jack Kerr becomes supply officer at the Navy Radio School in Chicago after graduation from Herzl Junior College. His parents will visit him there during the holiday season.
Dealers who sell pinto beans through brokers to wholesalers may add the broker's actual charges, not to exceed 10 cents a hundred pounds, to their ceiling price. The broker's actual charge may in no event exceed his ceiling price for his services.

Lt. Col. Rufus Bedilla was named State Director of Selective Service by Major General Lawis, succeeding Brig. Gen. Rus sell C. Chariton. Bedillo has served since 1995 with the Joint Army and Navy Selective Services Committee and worked on prewar manpower mobilization planning. He previously served with the War Department G-1 in Washington and now leads the State HQ in Santa Fe.
Tarle Kerr, head of the New Mexico State Bureau of Revenue, visited on official business and received a five dollar check from a former New Mexico resident. The payer asked Kerr to send a receipt for income tax, though no state imposes such tax. Kerr is noted as a New Mexico resident for tax purposes.
