Franklin D Roosevelt approved on September 14 1937 a proclamation continuing in force until December 31 1937 the rule that domestic silver mined before that date may be received by the U S Mint after the deadline under the proclamation. The Treasury General Counsel advised the Mint may accept newly mined domestic silver dated before midnight December 31 1937 in compliance with the proclamation.
