Mavericks Season Tickets On Sale For Local Fans

Season tickets for adults are on sale at the high school and downtown locations with a gym door sale tonight. A dozen home games are planned with two or three more possible. Regiment Of Artillery Barracks Overnight Visit

The 68th Coast Artillery Regiment moved through in two batteries with over 200 Army trucks en route to Fort Bliss for an indefinite stay. Lt Col Martin J. O'Brien commanded, Capt. R. R. Hendrix adjutant. Young officer Harry J. Harding, 21, joined as Second Lieutenant, greeted by Lordsburg friends before departure to San Francisco and then the Pacific Coast. An anti aircraft unit had been at the airport weeks earlier. Set. Martin A. Ruscow of Battery B arrived to prepare the airport for the regiments arrival.

Extradition and arrests tied to Grant County case

SHERIPP'S OFFICE JW. Quick returned from Phoenix by Sheriff Cavin for Grant county. He was extradited by Governor Jones. J. W. Maines of Bisbee Arizona was allowed a hearing after extradition papers signed by Governor Jones. At Bisbee the prisoner in custody, Cavin notified, Maines will have a hearing mid month before Governor Jones. The prisoner is wanted on a hot check charge. Fred S Adame and David Sandling, driving a California-registered Ford roadster, were picked up in Marfa Texas on burglary charges including batteries, a typewriter, motor oil, a check for 246 dollars, leather jacket and tools belonging to Alan Hood. Hood’s place robbed three times in a year. thieves apprehended twice and articles returned. Several juveniles stopped. some released to their homes. One man picked up for Willcox on a felony charge.

New Mexico churches sent a large delegation to celebrate the Methodist Home’s fiftieth anniversary. Attendees included Rev. Health officials push Christmas Seals to fight tuberculosis

Health is a major concern of the nation as well as of the individual. Christmas Seal funds are used to help wipe out tuberculosis.

City Initiates $60 000 WPA Project to Expand Utilities

A WPA project in the city, begun Tuesday, will employ about 90 men and install water, gas, and sewer mains, plus a new municipal building behind City Hall and a pumping station addition. Engineer BL Morgan of Deming will supervise, adobe buildings chosen to maximize labor. The project aims to replace an old small sewer plant and support rapid growth with enhanced facilities.

Lions Club held a Tuesday meeting with President Mayfield presiding. Guest RE J Miller of Denver joined Scofield as Lions guest as Miller-Cleveland Insurance.
