New Foodliner Supermarket opens December 4 at Fifth and Shakespeare in Lordsburg. Howard and Kelvin Phillips manage the 60 by 80 foot metal building offering staples meats vegetables and frozen foods on a cash and carry basis with Orange Stamps preserved. The building was erected by Gish Hall Co of El Paso and finished by KR S Dockum.

Forest Service will issue personal use permits for cutting Christmas trees on December 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce office. Permits cost $1 per tree and cover pinion trees from Burro Mountain or fir trees from Pinos Altos. Cutting without a permit is illegal.

Estrada Signs Pro Contract With Washington Redskins
David Estrada from Arizona State College signed a contract with the Washington Redskins of the NFL early this week. A Lordsburg High School star and 14th draft choice, the 205 pound halfback will be tried as a running back at training camp in July.
