District Court Jury Disposes Three Major Cases in Hidalgo County

The Hidalgo County District Court wrapped three major cases in a smooth term. Emilio Acosta was found guilty with a two year suspended sentence for a murder case arising from the Sept 1 incident. Tullos admitted to cattle theft and was sentenced to 4 to 5 years in the New Mexico penitentiary. State Drivers Licenses Go On Sale In New Mexico

Ray M. Hall announced that drivers licenses will go on sale December 1 across 61 incorporated municipalities. Renewals available at City Clerk or City Manager offices. Unlicensed drivers after December 31 1998 face court action with up to a $100 fine. New applicants require written tests, eye test, sign recognition, and knowledge of traffic laws. The exam will be conducted by the New Monaco State Police by appointment.
