Art Horizons Exhibit Sponsored by Silver City Club
The Silver City Woman's Club will sponsor the Art Horizons exhibit titled Art as a Challenging Career featuring Maurice Le Naux. The event runs December 3 to 5 with a reception December 3 at 4 p.m. and lectures December 4 at 4 p.m. at the Woman's Club Building. Loriaux will lecture and a discussion targets students from seventh grade up and adults in creative work. Admission is free for the Monday lecture. Exhibit hours include Sunday 2 to 6 p.m., Monday and Tuesday 2 to 5 p.m., and final show Tuesday 9 p.m.

Depot Crossing To Be Widened And Lighted
An agreement between Mayor Alan Koff and Southern Pacific Company officials plans widening the depot crossing by eight feet to add four foot pedestrian lanes on each side. The crossing will be rebuilt and paved with new lighting installed above for safety. A striping machine has arrived and the city will use 110 gallons of striping paint provided by the State Highway Dept. A special meeting approved bids for equipment. Smith Ford Co. won the police car and a pickup, Miller Chevrolet won two pickups, Lordsburd Garage on a truck chassis, Myers Co. of El Paso won an industrial tractor, and bids for a motor grader were rejected with new bids to follow.
