Lehman Henry of Texas will celebrate his birthday on Sept 3. Born Sept 3, 1647, in a wagon train from Missouri to Texas, he grew up in a family of seven children. He preached in Texas and later ran a ranch in Brushy, Hidalgo County, before retiring with his wife. Business Houses To Be Closed Monday Labor Day
The Lordsburg Chamber of commerce says all Lordsburg business houses including the drug store and garages will close Monday September 2 for Labor Day. The bank will close Friday at 2 p.m. and reopen Saturday until noon but will be closed all day Labor Day.

Raid Yields Drug Arrest In North Town Residence
Sheriff RE N Jackson with Undersheriff Hugh Pace and an undercover investigator raided a north town residence Saturday night. Roberto A Barbera was arrested and jailed on possession and sale of drugs without a license. The raid followed a burglary at Dr H Cohen’s office and involved a youth shooting case tied to a similar drug. The drug nicknamed yellow jackets causes violent reactions and overdoses. Parents are urged to warn teens.
