Paul Feil 21 of Deming joins New Mexico GOP delegation shaping a platform that leans conservative on draft evaders and marijuana while opposing amnesty for draftees. Culberson Re-elected Farm Credit Banks Director

Sherwood Culberson is re-elected director of the Farm Credit Banks of Wichita. He will start a fifth three year term January 1 1973 and serves on the Farm Credit Board directing the Federal Land Bank Wichita and related institutions in Kansas Oklahoma Colorado and New Mexico. He also chairs Las Cruces Production Credit Association and participates in state and national livestock groups.

Animas Schools To Hold Public Meeting

The Animas Independent School District No. 6 board will meet Aug 21 at 8 00 pm in the school library to discuss a 260000 bond plan for a new building and remodels including library science business education home economics and restrooms plus teacher housing. Animas Schools Announce Free Lunch Policy

Animas Independent School District No. 6 announces a free lunch policy for students unable to pay the full price. Applications are available at registration or the school with copies to be signed by a family adult and sent to Margaret Rutz, Administrator, Animas Public Schools. The Hidalgo General Hospital board raises room charges due to higher operating costs. Starting September 1, 1972, semi-private beds cost 33.00 dollars per day and private rooms 40.00 dollars per day for admissions after August 31, 1972.

Two Injured In Cycle-Truck Crash

Two people were seriously injured Thursday night at the Second and Animal streets intersection when a motorcycle collided with a pickup driven by Marvin Harper. Chester Cathey sustained severe injuries and a body cast is expected. Alberta Slawson suffered lesser injuries. The truck had stopped at a stop sign on Second Street before crossing Animas Street. Cathey was said to be traveling north on Animas at high speed. City Lt. T B Williams cited Cathey for careless driving.

New Pupils Must Prove Immunization

The Lordsburg Public Schools nurse asks parents of incoming pupils to verify immunization records with a doctor or Mrs. Rice at the County Health Department. New Mexico requires proof within one month of entry that children have completed, begun, or been legally exempted from DPT, pertussis, tetanus, polio, measles, and rubella vaccines.
