Neonanimated signal tower sign for Railroad Club unveiled
The El Paso Neon Sign Company erected a 500 pound neon animated sign for the Railroad Club, a perfect replica of a signal tower with changing lights. A flood light below illuminates the walk, and experts finished the installation Tuesday evening.

Joyful Vacation Ends for Lordsburg Faculty Family
Mrs Moselle Messecar of the Lordsburg School faculty returns with her daughters Mary and Katherine after a two month trip visiting Indiana Ohio Michigan and Ontario Canada. They attended reunions saw Niagara Falls and Lake Erie and spent a night in Oklahoma City with Mr and Mrs Joe Enberg. They arrive home with a new Canary Yellow Chevrolet.

The Lordsburg Juniors are praised for being the most active unit in the state with clippings and pictures. New officers elected include Opal Wright as president and Mary Ellen Jenkins as secretary. By August 6, 1929, $50 raised by the Juniors was donated to the Auxiliary treasurer. 14 Junior members exist.

Open ing Convention Highlights Growth of American Legion
Vice-Commander Ross announced the American Legion reached one million members for the second time and grows by about a thousand daily. The 20th anniversary sees vast assets, including a $6 million trust and a $200,000 Overseas Grave Trust, plus a Washington office building valued at $160,000. The Legion funds its programs with a $1,000,600 annual budget and publishes The American Legion Monthly at about $125,000 yearly. Public esteem remains its top asset as it continues to promote Americanism and oppose alien and unAmerican ideas. Vice-Commander Brown plans to attend department conventions in Carson City Nevada California Utah and Alaska ahead of the National Convention.
