Shakespeare Ghost Town will stage The Silver Nuggets Visit Shakespeare on August 18 and 19 as part of its popular productions. Local dancers called the Silver Nuggets, led by manager Professor Marcus A. Melrose, will perform a Can Can on the General Merchandise porch amid riotous miner and cowboy audience reactions. The cast includes actors such as Jack Howell and Mollie Pressler, with dancers Cynthia Gomez and Lisa Gomez among others. Performances occur at the 10 am and 2 pm tours, while security system plans for R.V.T. and Southside proceed with a six-figure install through Great Western Specialty Systems Inc. and GSA procurement.

Enrollment At WNMU Set To Break Records In Centennial Year
Western New Mexico University officials project the largest freshman class in its history as enrollment nears a centennial year in 1993. Admissions director Mike Alecksen says about 2100 students will be on campus this fall with 350 off campus, and roughly 1100 new students already applied by July. Enrollment has risen about 10 percent annually for three years.
