Registration opened at 8 30 A M in the Coronado Theatre with coffee and doughnuts. Mrs E Rourk opened the meeting at 10 A M, followed by remarks from District Chairman Mrs Lawrence Shelley and led by Mrs T T McDonald. The High School band performed two numbers and a panel discussion featured State President Mrs Leste James and State Home Agent Miss Elsie Cunningham. Spelling Contest Names Lordsburg Entrants for Herald Post Bee
Twenty five students competed at Lordsburg Junior High to determine who represents the school in the Herald Post Spring Bee. Sonny Madrid won first prize with Franklin Hood in second and Fran Raymond third. The El Paso event is set for April 27 and 28 with cash awards for top four places.

Lordsburg Indians Fall Short Against Deming in Loss
The Lordsburg Indians suffered their second defeat of the season as Deming beat them 13 to 4. Iguera pitched three scoreless innings for Lordsburg while Chester pitched for Deming. Lordsburg rallied to three runs early but was held silent the rest of the game as Deming pulled ahead with a two run fourth inning and continued the scoring.
