Burk green gamed winner in the state Leadership Coast as Elk Lodge hosts an awards event on April 23. L Reed, state chairman Elks Youth Activities Com, will present. Stiles, co captain of the football team and a multi sport athlete, served as class president and led the Sta. Council. Girls meet at New Mexico University in Albuquerque and boys at the Military Institute in Roswell. Harenberg Attends Red Cross First Aid Refresher
Frank E. Harenberg of Lordsburg left Tuesday for Albuquerque to attend a Red Cross refresher course for First Aid instructors. The course covers new techniques including the approved artificial respiration method. He is expected back today and will offer instruction to groups formed for this purpose.

Representatives Council Discuss Crossing Closure Rights
Last Thursday two Southern Pacific Railroad Co. representatives met with city council members to gauge support for closing the crossing just east of the depot. They cited a 1920 ordinance and a July 2, 1901 city resolution about vacating Pyramid Street and leasing right of way for paving Railro Avenue and an underpass, and warned the railroad could potentially block traffic unless the city obtains an easement or pursues condemnation.
