George Pickett of Silver City will be guest speaker at the monthly Chamber of Commerce luncheon at El Chart Durant. He will show colorful slides of the Gila Wilderness. luncheon is Dutch treat and noon Wednesday, April 21, with Jack McGhee as chairman.
Paintings by Rosemary Turner of Rodeo, wife of Harry Turner, are showcased this month in the First National Bank of Lordsburg lobby. The bank rotates a local artist each month and invites the public to view the display.

Lordsburg High twirling majorettes announce a spring program to fund camp travel. Registration is 9 to 12 Saturday April 24 with fourteen hours of twirling lessons, five dollars, plus optional seven marching lessons for two extra dollars.
Charles T. Babers, trainmaster at Lordsburg since 1963, is named trainmaster at Yuma Arizona. Dale D. Grissom moves from Tucson to Lordsburg to replace him. L A Cope moves to Tucson and T J Harle becomes acting assistant trainmaster in Lordsburg, all effective April.
At the regular meeting the Order of Eastern Star Chapter decided to sponsor a pancake breakfast Monday morning April 26 from seven to ten o clock A M Tickets are one dollar and entitle the bearer to eat all the pancakes they can consume.
Final plans are set for a Cotton Extravaganza Style Show on Friday April 23 at 7 p.m. in the Cafetorium featuring 100 percent cotton garments in casual street sport and dress categories modeled by designers or designated volunteers. The event includes a display of the Calvacade of Cottons with a loan wardrobe from the National Cotton Council and McCall's patterns, plus a social hour and refreshments. Cash prize donations from local businesses and individuals total many names with gift certificates from Amin's Department Store and Saucedo's Food Market among others.
The La Fiesta hosts an Easter dance sponsored by LULACs on Saturday night April 17. Dancing starts at 9 p.m. A 24m nude sale will be held after the dance at the C. W. O. Hall. Music by Los Amigos.
