The Big Horn Game Association held its annual meeting at Caftel fean on Wednesday with Morrie re-elected president. Officers including vice president Ravens and secretary were chosen. the gathering approved financial items and adjourned after a meal.
Lordsburg cafe adds sixteen counter chairs this week improving comfort for customers. Proprietor Mr Johnson says the investment enhances the dining area though he offers no further details on furniture or service.
The Burro Mountain Rifle Club defeated the Lordsburg team in the first match of the year. Burro Mountain scored 599 to 3 for Lordsburg amid weather conditions that lowered scores for both sides. Large crowd from White Signal attended with a fine dinner served. Lordsburg supporters planned revenge.
A joint birthday dinner was held at the Hollew Hotel honoring Hazel Turney and Esta Logan. Guests included Mrs Eline Burch Pauline Rutiss Mamie Hagan and Ann Gould. Wednesday evening Miss Logan received a surprise featuring a large birthday cake and steak dinner. General manager Harry A. Clarke of C and A Company drove over from Lowell Wednesday.
The Lordsburg branch of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs held a regular bi monthly meeting at the home of Miss Margaret Holt on March 26. Officers include President Margaret Holt and Maude B Hill among others. Charter members hold titles from librarian to teacher and store co owner, reflecting the club’s widespread local participation.

Rev. A Lay of Rodeo traveled from Lordsburg to Las Cruces on Wednesday. He was joined by Miss Gera Moody Gosper who planned to attend a Christian education conference promoting daily vacation schools in Las Cruces that afternoon.
Capt Arthur Brock from the Air Corps headquarter staff Washington arrived direct from General Fecher’s office and found in charge of Lordsburg Airport Sergt Hurley D Jones, a former commander’s aide in the Philippines. Brock joined the New Mexico National Guard before World War I and was a prominent airman overseas, often visiting the Holt residence in Deming.
Robbers smashed a window at Lordsburg Wrecking Company Tuesday night and carried away a five hundred pound safe with about one hundred dollars in cash a diamond ring worth 150 two smaller diamonds two pistols and other valuables. A fingerprint expert from El Paso could not obtain usable photos and no trace of the safe or suspects was found by press time.

Every penny spent earns one vote, with special brand items boosting votes. Entrants deposit a coupon at the store to receive 1000 votes and must sign the coupon with their name.
New state law under Senate Bill 412 declares underground waters in determined areas belong to the public and regulate their use. Affected regions include the Ronewell Artesian Basin and Estancia Valley plus Mimbres Valley, Lea and Hidalgo Counties. Existing rights must file declaratory statements with the State Engineer and County Clerk by June 14, while new withdrawals require a permit. The State Engineer will distribute blanks in early June for declarations and permits.
Spencer Monroe Jr. of Universal Studios and Charles H. Calhieon of M. Productions Holly wood visited Lordsburg Monday on the way to Terra Haute and Chicago to shoot scenes for a special picture. They will return to pick up a reel in the city after their visit.

A tractor and hoe hookup can cultivate 76 to 90 acres in a day compared with 1 to 2 acres by horse drawn methods formerly used.

Drysdale is improving rapidly. Little Elizabeth Stover is recovering well. BE. C. Bennell, working on a gas line, was injured and is in the hospital.
A vague note from Animas states station agent Ben was involved in goats shearing after a Mohair shortage. The crew supposedly targeted Ben to cover missing mohair for a shipment though the claim comes from an uncertain source.
H. J. McGrath accompanied by Mrs. McGrath returned from Los Angeles after medical treatment and is looking better than he has for years. Mrs. M. W. McGrath and Walter drove from Silver City to greet them and the group then went to Silver City.
Foreign guests Zeer and Bartha from the University of Hungary toured chief U S points of interest riding a motorcycle with sidecar. They displayed hundreds of state and city emblems on the vehicle and were photographed by the Chamber of Commerce camera.

A large party of Arizona boosters led by Fred Moody and other Graham and Gila county officials visited Lordsburg to promote neighborly ties. The group included local officials from Globe, Miami, Safford, and Cham bers of Commerce leaders. Directors Jones and Holt helped host the delegation, who invited Lordsburg to return the visit.
Immigration officers searched a horse drawn sleigh in Sailt Ste Marie Michigan and found 51 quarts of Canadian liquor.
Dr C Pe Austin, vice president of the Lordsburg Lions Club, addressed members Tuesday in a detailed talk. He explained the distinction between contagion and infection and covered related points in a clear, informative manner.

Easter will be observed in all Methodist Church services on Sunday. Sunday school classes meet at 9:40. 10:20 assemble for Easter worship led by Regioner and Primary departments with cantata in the 10:50 morning service and 8:00 evening service. Districts meet April 6–7 in Trinity Church El Paso. Teacher course Worship in the Sunday School begins April 8 at 7:30 for two evenings, continuing the next week. taught by Pastor S. M. Mims.
