The visitors flew in from El Paso in two service planes and Cot Fisher and Lt Foster later traveled to Santa Fe to meet Adjutant General Os borne Wood. An emergency field is set up on the Diamond A property as the airmen praised hospitality and Mrs Andersons meals. Chief Moore showed strong interest in the army ships. Hospitality is a cardinal Diamond A principle.
The Resurrection Song cantata by Hoy B Nolte was performed by the Bath Methodist church choir at both morning and evening services to large crowds. Under the direction of Mrs L Hoss and Harry Hosenstein with Mrs C Fuller on piano, the choir earned praise for the rendition and will repeat at Purat Methodist church in Deming on April 1.
A Texas Louisiana Power Company warning urges town youths to read safety messages about flying kites near electric lines. It notes monthly employee safety meetings aim to prevent accidents and protect residents served by the utility.
Mrs John L Augustine and her daughter Cordelia hosted two bridge gatherings last week with pastel yellow and white Easter decor. Captain N. McDonald of General Pershing's staff travels with Mrs McDonald during a Saturday trip en route to California for a brief vacation. He previously served on the border with Lloyd Gibbons covering the 1916 Columbus raid and led the overseas army photographic section. The McDonalds were photographed with Hurley D. Jones and appear as Liberal begins the serial My Experience in the World War by General Pershing.
Hulls Eve at Lordsburg announces the first 100 percent Hifle Club in New Mexico. Members are urged to train for the April 26 Southwest New Mexico Match with 200 yard off hand and kneeling or sitting 10 shot drills. Visitors welcome if E C Morris arrives with a reliable gun, otherwise Ralph Smith may seek a new clerk and the Rifle Club a new member.
Mrs Ronald Egan hosted an Easter egg hunt for her daughters Marcia and Mary Jane on Sunday afternoon. Guests included Pauline, Silvia, Jane, Bobby Wright, Peggy Mims, Lucille, Ruth, Margaret Bradberry, Jackie Welch and Gilbert Buvens. The Methodist church Primary Department held its annual Faster egg hunt Saturday morning with many children joining in the fun.
Old Timers reunion and picnic set for April 20 21 1931. Banquet and dance listed for Holy Cross Sanator ium Deming set for the 20th followed by a picnic at Palomas Chihuahua Mexico on the 21st. Invites extended to all without individual invitations.
Mrs Harold Ehrhardt will host a Methodist tea Friday afternoon April 10. All are invited to attend.
Mrs Sar Gass hosted a Wednesday afternoon meeting of the Baptist Church Woman's Missionary Society. Refreshments were served to Mesdames Charlie Pence Harold Casper Frank Corbell B E Lovett and the hostess.
A. G. Hagendorne, a leading New York Cotton Exchange member, touring the West in a Harvey car praised the wheat and hospitality of the region. He spoke at the Chamber of Commerce and said he would depart for Santa Fe to travel homeward.

Guests included Paula Johnson Louise Ball Ruby Wright Doris Wright Hazel Adkinson Florence Adkinson Betty Brinkan A L Conner Kay Nard B Wason Tom Bleauvelt Sammie Laurinas Harry Gale John Ball Emmett Lovelt and the hostess. A delightful time was had by all.
Mrs. Douglas Brubaker of Duncan announces the birth of an eight pound baby girl named Kathleen Adele on Sunday April 5. The newborn and mother are reported well. Edwindes of Tucumcari left the Lordsburg hospital after medical treatment. Mrs. L. W. Buck of Artesia NM had major surgery at the hospital on Tuesday. K. C. Bennett injured on a gas line is improving at the hospital.
Mr and Mrs M Fisher entertained at a six o clock dinner honoring the first team basketball boys and their manager. The room featured flowers streamers and a large Maverick pencil sign. The Church of Christ led by D H Hadwin announces moving Daniel study to Thursday the even week and a Wednesday illustrated Old Testament history lecture. Sunday sermons emphasize the gospel and a full program of worship begins at 10:00 with evangelistic messages and nightly study sessions for families and newcomers.
Construction foreman W. P. Johnston of Continental Oil Company arrived in Lordsburg on Tuesday to start the new Conoco service station on Wear Railroad Avenue. The steel building is expected to open within four weeks with local hires as needed. Johnston recently completed a bulk plant in Eldia New Mexico.
Mes Harold Ehrhardt entertained the bridge club Monday afternoon with flower-decked rooms and seasonally tallied scores. Refreshments included grape berry short cake and coffee. Roy H. Evans won high score.

The Greenburg Amusement Company opens its spring season in Lordsburg from Tuesday April 14 to Saturday April 18. The show features new acts including a $10,000 Beauty Merry Go Round, the El Ferris Wheel, Thunderbolt the magician, Princess Marie, and a Kiwanis troupe of Hawaiians. Wrestlers, boxers, exotic animals, and a Brisbane-style night encourage families and all ages to attend.

He also highlighted New Mexico industries and local production in Lordsburg before turning to the club’s upcoming speakers.
The augmented Deming Methodist Church choir will perform the cantata My Redeemer Lives this Sunday evening at the local Methodist church. The program lists arias duets and choruses including Behold the Lamb of God and There Was No Other Way with Miss Emma Garcia and Mrs. Vo schurtz among soloists and a final Alleluia chorus with benediction.
