A Sunday night event at the Diamond A headquarters ranch hosted by Bapt. John J. English and Mr. Anderson welcomed renowned army fliers including Col. Fisher chief of the Eighth Corps Area Major Gore Lt Thad W Foster chief of the Souter air ways Lt Holand of San Antonio and Sergt Jones commander of the local airport. The visitors flew in from El Paso in two service planes and Cot Fisher and Lt Foster later traveled to Santa Fe to meet Adjutant General Os borne Wood. An emergency field is set up on the Diamond A property as the airmen praised hospitality and Mrs Andersons meals. Chief Moore showed strong interest in the army ships. Hospitality is a cardinal Diamond A principle.

Easter Cantata Delights Bath Congregation

The Resurrection Song cantata by Hoy B Nolte was performed by the Bath Methodist church choir at both morning and evening services to large crowds. Under the direction of Mrs L Hoss and Harry Hosenstein with Mrs C Fuller on piano, the choir earned praise for the rendition and will repeat at Purat Methodist church in Deming on April 1.

Birth Brings Kathleen Adele to Duncan Family

Work Begins on Conoco Service Station in Lordsburg

Construction foreman W. P. Johnston of Continental Oil Company arrived in Lordsburg on Tuesday to start the new Conoco service station on Wear Railroad Avenue. The steel building is expected to open within four weeks with local hires as needed. Johnston recently completed a bulk plant in Eldia New Mexico.

The Greenburg Amusement Company opens its spring season in Lordsburg from Tuesday April 14 to Saturday April 18.
