Students recycle to build bench at Lorain County Community College
At LCCC, Psi Beta and Phi Theta Kappa honor societies led a year long effort to collect 500 pounds of plastic bags for a NexTrex bench. Jackie Moss, president of both groups, coordinated bin placement, weighing, and campus promotion with the community and Giant Eagle recycling in Sheffield. Shiloh Gill, executive vice president, described personal growth and plans to pursue nursing. About 100 students belong to Phi Theta Kappa with eight core members, and the bench location near Floral Trail includes a Little Library, aiming for Earth Day dedication.
